What You Need To Know When You Start Skateboarding

How hard can skateboarding really be? Are you really just standing on it? And the skateboard does all or most of the work. Right? Regretfully, it isn’t an [1] electric razor scooter. When you are starting out these are the questions you are probably asking yourself.

It won’t take long to discover there is more to skateboarding than simply standing still on a moving board. So there are some skills involved, it will take some practice to get those skills, too.
You’ve got to put the practice time in. No way around it. And before you can do anything fancy (like the pros who, no doubt, got you interested in skateboarding in the first place), you need to learn the basics of boarding.

Here are some of the things you need to know when you are starting out.
Takes a little time to know which foot goes where on the board. Forget about if you’re right or left-handed. Doesn’t matter like batting in baseball. You’ll have to know which of your legs is the dominant leg. Think and figure out how you approach something.

Think back - when you kick a ball, which side do you do it with? Walking up stairs, which foot do you usually start out with? If you stumble, which foot do you automatically use to catch yourself with? The foot you use for all of these things will almost always be the foot that you keep on the back part of the board. It’s not about which direction you prefer to face, and it’s much more about which leg is strongest. Face your fear.

A lot of newer skates are afraid to try too much. They quickly see there’s not much to save them from getting hurt while they’re skateboarding. It’s really important to face this if there’s any hope for improvement. If you don’t work to overcome this, then you’ll always be on the sidelines watching others be cool.

The only real way to get over this is to keep practicing. The more time you spend practicing the more comfortable you will get on your board and the more you will be open to trying. There are better ways to fall than others, when at all possible. The more and more you deal with these aspects of skating, the quicker and better you’ll get.

Learn tricks one at a time and start slow. Get the basics down good before moving on to tricks. Don’t try to skate down a staircase or do any big jumps or flips or twists right away. Start with small lifts and changing directions. You can jump the board, then change direction. Get these basics tricks down before you try things that are more dangerous.

Remember, just like learning how to board at all, learning how to trick involves starting small and getting better over time.
Skating doesn’t need to be terribly hard, but it will require some time from you. Hey, you’ll learn it. Patience and no worries! But it is really important to get the basics down before moving ahead. Going too far and too fast is the way to get unnecessarily hurt. So keep with it and who knows? You could be the next Tony Hawk!

If learning to ride a skateboard sounds like too much exercise you can definitely try a [2] razor e300 electric scooter for sport.
